A collaboration between the Subir and Malini Chowdhury Center for Bangladesh Studies at UC Berkeley and the American Institute of Bangladesh Studies. With support from the Council of American Overseas Research Centers
Description:
The Subir and Malini Chowdhury Center for Bangladesh Studies under the Institute for South Asia Studies (ISAS) at UC Berkeley and the American Institute of Bangladesh Studies (AIBS) invite applications from faculty at universities in Bangladesh interested in participating in a program focused on academic writing and publishing in Spring 2018. This program will bring six faculty members from Bangladeshi institutions of higher education to be in residence for one week at the Chowdhury Center, where they will take part in workshops on research methodologies, writing, and the publishing process led by UC Berkeley faculty. After the week in residence at Berkeley, Bangladeshi faculty will present their papers in progress in a day long workshop. Each junior faculty member will be paired up with a US based faculty member in his/ her field who will provide feedback on the paper presented. The final product will be an academic paper that can be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal for publication. In addition, junior faculty will have the opportunity to make contacts and network with US based faculty and researchers.
